This semester, Cesar and I have been working hard together as doctoral students at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley on our topic of study: ungrading. For those unfamiliar with the term, ungrading is a form of evaluation in which there are no grades or strict metrics; instead, feedback is open-ended and ongoing. It's something we both feel passionate about, inspired to share with others, and determined to explore further. We've been diving deep into this concept - discussing its possibilities and implications - and using our own experience to develop frameworks for educators who might be interested in trying it out. Ungrading has the potential to revolutionize education if given enough attention, which is why we're so excited to be studying it!
